We purchased the Select Sleep 10000 Queen in Nov 2011. We got a split design with my husband's side being firmer than my side. There was no additional charge for this feature. I really liked the help I was given to make the selection of the mattress as both of us are older and we have some back issues. Since my husband is much larger I was delighted to find out that I could finally get to sleep on a mattress that wasn't too hard for me (that's always been the case to accommodate his weight).

The mattress came in three layers with the cover. It was well packaged and although it took two of us it was easy to unpack. We had been told we might need some time to adjust to latex but in our case after the first night we knew we both slept better. This was our first time laying on latex and I can't describe how wonderful it felt. The key for us was the support it gave to our backs without feeling hard. We're really happy and wished we'd discovered latex sooner.

Savvy Rest Serenity

I love to go to bed on my Serenity Pillow Top!!

Our old mattress was actually not that old, but shortly after purchasing it, it began to sag in the middle. It was a latex mattress, which my husband preferred to inner spring, but I hated the dip--the place where we bought it insisted it wasn't large enough to trigger the warranty and so we put up with it for several years...until I could stand it no further. I looked for a replacement that would not dip, that was organic, well-made, from a reputable company, and would be comfortable. I found all that and more in our Savvy Rest. I searched numerous sites looking for a mattress that would be right for us and kept coming across Savvy Rest. There was a store several towns over that carried the brand and we drove out one day to try it out. Both my husband and I loved the mattress and we loved that we could customize the layers to suit each of us. We've had the bed for about 8 months and I can tell you we both love it, I fall asleep the second I close my eyes and sleep so soundly. No dips, only pure comfort.

Pros:
You can customize each side of the mattress for King and Queen in case you and your partner want to have different levels of firmness. Because the mattress zips into the cover, you can try it one way, then change it and try it with a different layer configuration and see how you like it best. In order to get the full benefit of my organic latex mattress, I added an organic wool mattress pad (recommended to protect the top layer of latex and the overall mattress cover, but also provides a nice layer of temperature regulating comfort). I also added organic cotton sheets and an organic wool duvet. The entire ensemble was expensive, but it is my absolute favorite place to be--I love getting in bed and it was worth every penny.

Cons:
Requires a slatted platform base, so if you have a regular bed, you need a new bed to house this mattress. It's worth it though! I am extremely sensitive to smell, and the first few nights we slept on the mattress my wool mattress cover had not yet arrived and I did notice an odor from the latex. However, once I put on the mattress cover, I never noticed that again. I used an organic washable wool mattress pad with an organic cotton cover. Getting the mattress layers into the cover was not easy, I don't recommend trying it if you are not fit, as it required a lot of exertion. But if you don't live within delivery distance from a store that sells these, know that you can do it, it's just not quite as simple as the video demonstration on the web site).

MY 100% NATURAL LATEX SMELLS

HELP please - my 100% pure natural latex mattress (dunlop) smells.
I am really concerned about this.We have been having this mattress for more than 6weeks now. For the first month we had to leave it unzipped and uncovered from its outer cover in a separate bedroom with windows non-stop open for over a month. We even avoided going to the room much, as the smell quickly spread over the house.I have to say that the smell has decreased considerably (and we started sleeping on it in last 2 weeks), but the smell still lingers enough to bother us. Our 2.5 year old daughter sleeps in bed with us and even if she takes only an hour nap in the afternoon, I can smell the mattress on her pyjama and her body (through a good quality mattress protector and a bedsheet!)! I myself am pregnant and although I keep reading about the smell not gassing off and not being harmful in these mattresses, I am concerned more and more. I think I would rather return it (but our trial period has ended). we were told (and everywhere I am reading I can see) that mattress smell should go within 6 weeks. Does anyone have a similar experience?

After 58 years of inner spring mattresses, various waterbeds(much enjoyed), this bed is by far the most comfortable. Bob is knowledgable and receptive to your individual needs and comfort. I have never had a more peaceful night sleep. Spreading the word!

Savvy Rest Serenity

stinks!

I bought savvy rest because I have multiple sensitivities and thought a 100% natural bed would be best. We bought the bed to be very firm, which it is ( almost impossible for a side sleeper), but the main problem is the odor is so strong, we can barely stand it. It is a strangely sweet smell, and gives both of us a headache. I hope that this smell will go away eventually, because my husband already refuses to sleep in it and all the other beds in the house are too soft for me. We have had it for a week, but the company aired it out at the factory for a week before they sent it to us ( for a fee). In the instruction booklet, it says that if the smell bothers you to let it air out for a day or two. Two weeks later, it is just as bad. I am hoping that a couple of months makes a difference. I am stuck with it one way or another. I should have bought one from a different company that has a return policy. In two months, I will return to this site and review it again. IF it didn't smell, I would give it a higher rating.

Cons:
Cannot return it! Expensive.
