I find that I love my 10" Tempurpedic more and more now that I am in my 3rd year of sleeping on it.
It is, by far, the best mattress I've ever slept on. I have a terrible lower back problem and the pressure points on all the other mattresses really cause me problems sleeping.
This is the only mattress I've ever used where I can fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night without tossing and turning.
I sleep deeper on it with no pressure points.
I had to adjust to it when I first got it. That took me an entire month to really begin to get used to it, because it's not like any other bed. It really challenged my idea of "getting into bed."
So I can understand how others might react negatively to it and not really give it a chance.
I have no heat problems and I get hot very easily usually.
Aside from the "break-in" period, I would say that I had to find the right pillows for it.
I do not like the tempurpedic neck type pillows. They are not the best for me.
I do think, however, the most awesome experience with this mattress demands some form of Tempurpedic pillow. I use the comfort pillow, the classic pillow and the body pillow.
I often just lay in bed and do not move a muscle to just experience the degree of comfort I feel. I have never felt this before in my life.
I am not saying that other mattresses are not fantastic, don't get me wrong. I am just saying that, to me, this is very very special.
I read different reviews and it's hard to predict which Tempurpedic is best for somebody. I did not like the celebrity or rhapsody. Yet others do not like the one I have. So I suggest , if you are interested, really really take your time with them, so you get a feel for the differences. Some are my harder or softer than others.
I have 3 friends that all of a Tempurpedic and they all love it.
I met lots of people who own them when I was shopping who felt the same way.
I just saw Oprah today on her show with a sleep expert. And he was giving advice about the best pillows and mattress. And his first choice was Tempurpedic. When Oprah saw which mattress he was showing on the set that day, she got excited and said, that's what I have.
Anyway, I thought I'd write a review after all this time and report back that the mattress has held it's shape one hundred percent. I see absolutely no indentations or loss of support in any noticeable way whatsover.
This is a very controversial bed on this forum in particular. I have never understood the negative things I read here.
I decided to trust my own instincts and I am so happy I decided to do it.

Tempurpedic Deluxe Model - Sinking Quality

Hips & Shoulders (heavier body parts) sink way too far in the foam, creating a very un-natural spine position (for me), similar to a worn mattress. Back pain worsened by the day until I had to return it. Visco Foam will not work for everyone. It may help to stay at a hotel that offers tempurpedic first.

Pros:

Good Return Policy - Initial feel ok.

Cons:

Expensive. Foam sinks in too far.

I have had 3 back surgeries and have never had a pain free night until I got the Tempur Rhapsody. It is by far the best bed I have slept on. I was using a S&F eurotop (level 6) and was sore every AM. Prior to that I was using a Dormia memory foam mattress and was sore. I have had the bed for 6-8 wks so far and could not be happier. I only hope it lasts.
