I've slept on an old boxspring my entire life in one form or another. As long as I didn't wake up hurting, that's all I cared about. But passing 30 I figured it was finally time to drop money on a quality mattress and I wasn't afraid to do it given that I'd own it and use it for the next 30 years. I travel a lot for work so I "know" hotel beds. Whenever I find one I like, I always look at the make. To that extent, I was looking very hard at Jamison but being a southern company, shipping and the hassle of a boxspring in moving was too much for my liking and that's when I came across layered latex beds. I move every year or two so the thought of just disassembling the layers and rolling them up had me sold. No more looking at apartments and figuring out how I was going to maneuver a king bed into it.

Not many latex mattress companies out there but SleepEZ by my determination seemed to have the best bang for the buck. I went to their website and plugged my height and weight in and the recommended soft talalay, medium dunlop, firm dunlop, extra firm dunlop for a 5'10, 165b man came up. Whatever, that's what I went with. The mattress came and though soft to the initial feel, the first few nights I woke up with back pain. Determining it was too firm I exchanged the extra firm layer for a soft layer of dunlop to have the setup soft talalay, soft dunlop, medium dunlop, firm dunlop. O yeah, this is the perfect setup! You sink in nice but are supported well. If you're are a curvy woman of average weight, you would be happy.

I got two free pillows and a sheet set. Wasn't expecting much being "free" but was quite surprised that they were high quality products. The sheets are amazing! Can't say enough about the sheets, wow. Mattress shell, also amazing.

Five star company. The only thing I could recommend is maybe at least a sticker on the latex confirming it is organic. I decided to spend the little extra money for the fully organic latex and nothing was labeled expressing that fact. How would I know? If I remember right, one layer had a stamp in the latex itself stating it but the other layers didn't.

Recent GF said my bed is truly heavenly so run with that for what it is worth. I'm no poet of words nor feel the need to right reviews but thought this company was exceptionally easy to deal with and sells a quality product.

I was having lower back pain and sleeping problems for several years, before I realized it was my mattress. I am a 5' 4", 120 lb woman and in my 30's (at the time), so I have no idea a mattress could wreak so much havoc. I started researching mattresses and came across the solid latex. I had a solid latex pillow as a kid which I had absolutely loved, so I immediately knew a latex mattress was for me. After looking around in the stores, I opted for the internet because the value was so much better than anything I saw in the stores. (caveat - prices were MUCH cheaper then)

I ordered a 4 layer - 3" inch each layer talay latex mattress. The top (soft) layer we found to be way too soft and gave it away. I ordered a medium layer for our top, so now we have two firm layers at the bottom and two medium layers at the top. It is heaven. It's like sleeping on a marshmallow. No more back problems, and I can now sleep on my back (favorite position). The mattress is holding strong after ten years, and frankly I can easily see ten more years. I personally think 4 layers is over kill, and if you're struggling to afford it, just buy 2 - 3" layers (6 inches). Three layers would be more than enough.

Incidentally, one time when I was washing the cover, my two year old sat on the mattress and starting pulling bits out. We packed the bits back in the mattress and covered it with a cloth. We moved this layer down one notch (so it's in the middle), and you don't notice a thing. Tough stuff. Tears also have absolutely no bearing on durability. Just wrap the stuff up in the mattress cover and you won't notice a thing.

Cons:

tricky to arrange comfort at first
how do you send these things back?
heavy when all together
difficult to move -- (move each layer separately rolled up as a burrito)
keep away from 2 year olds!

My husband and I are totally satisfied with our Sleep Ez latex mattress (one, two inch layer and two, three inch layers). I purposely waited almost two years before posting a review to see how the mattress would serve us over the long haul. We give it 5 stars! My back pain has disappeared! Here is one important piece of advice to anyone trying a Sleep Ez mattress for the first time: try it for the full 90 days before you consider returning it. It took many, many weeks for our bodies to adjust to a latex mattress. At first I thought we had made a huge mistake, but our bodies just had to re-adjust - for the better! - and that took time. Now we wouldn't sleep on any other type of mattress. An added plus was the personalized, excellent customer service. Our first layered combinations were not quite right, but the folks at Sleep Ez worked with us till we found the perfect combinations.
