I am going to lower my weight from 205 pounds to 180 pounds - don't know how but I will do that somehow!

If you are truly going to lose that weight (and keep it off without being on a rollercoaster--sorry, but I am constantly trying so I am little skeptical !) I would tell you that Tempurpedic is probably the best resource for the memory foam option due to the fact that it is the most sensitive to an individuals weight AND temperature. If youl ose weight now, it will adjust to your weight (and subsequent core temperature, since it too will probably change a bit) So if yuo buy one now, buy it based on what is most comfortable on your hips and shoulders after being in it for about 12-15 minutes. If during that time, your shoulders feel like they are pushed up in your chin or you lower back feels slightly twisted up at your hips, I would tell you you are in a bed that is too firm for your sleep habits. If you choose to wait until after you lose the weight, the sae rules apply, but the bed will grow and adjust with you since it is constantly reading your temperature and weight...

I sleep on a Cloud Luxe and most of my friends (mattress sales people and non salespeople alike) told me it was too soft to sleep on... 6 months later I am still sleeping better than I have in over 40 years!

I appreciate the post above, but like I say to everyone, be careful selecting a mattress that is very plush, or has a lot of give, or that has a lot of memory foam allowing hips and shoulders to sink deeply into it.  I know the Luxe is quite a plush mattress because it has quite a bit of memory foam.  Not that that is bad per se, but too plush can cause some problems.   I chose an iComfort Revolution which is a very plush mattress.  Every one in the family agreed that Revolution was very soft and allowed them to sink a lot into it,....

It's not that memory foam changes during the night and keeps sinking down like some claim.  You can know in the store if the mattress is too soft.

the effects too soft mattress are subtle.  It took a few weeks or so for my neck to become out of alignment.  It was the mattress for sure.  I probably would have done fine on an Insight which has much less memory foam, although I really don't like their foundations at all.

So, again, be very careful going for very soft in memory foam, the kind where your butt sinks a lot into it even when you just sit on it.

Memory foam is very pressure relieving even at the minimal 2.8" total memory foam on this Cloud.  The memory foam and core foam work together very well to provide good support to me, and it is easily the most comfortable and pressure relieving mattress I've ever had.  My right shoulder likes it.  Honest truth,  I really like my Tempurpedic.
