I've got a Sealy pillow-top mattress thats been hurting my hip due to inflammatory arthritis. I bought a Venus memory foam pad from Overstock to try and soften it up a little. When that didn't help much, I bought a Sensus pad to put on top of it. Now its better for my hip, but the lack of support is really bothering my back. I'm thinking of trying a latex topper from FBM to see if it helps, but I'm not sure which I should get. I was thinking of going with a one inch medium for the support and then I can layer it with an inch or two of memory foam if I need to soften it up a little. Does this sound like a good plan, or will medium be too hard on my hip?
