Please help me, or at the very least point me to some past post or links.  I'm at my whit's end with this whole mattress thing.

All I want is a mattress that's not built with memory foam . . . that's all . . .

We spent all day Father's day looking at mattresses in the stores telling them we didn't want foam.  Turns out the mattress we were writing a check for had memory foam in it.  Ugh!

Anyway, I think Shifman makes mattresses without memory foam.

I saw a thread where IanS posted these manufactures as making "organic" beds

www.hastens.com
www.vi-spring.com
www.chbeckley.com
www.mcroskey.com
www.flobeds.com

I don't know that I'm looking for an "organic" mattress, all I want is a GOOD one without foam.  Does that mean organic?  Any thoughts on Shifman?

Thank you for reading my post and any suggestions that you can offer.  I'm soooo overwhelmed that I could sit here and cry.  We need a new bed so bad.  Please help me.

if you can afford it then Vi-spring gets my vote, but i dont know the other makes.

they are beautiful beds made to the highest standard and will not give you the problems that are often decribed on here. go and have a shot on one but be prepared for a heafty price.

MY ADVICE THAT NEVER CHANGES

No, you dont NEED a firm mattress.

Whatever kind of mattress you choose, if its really cheap it WILL be crap.

Buying a mattress topper just proves you didnt buy the right mattress.

If you have bought a mattress without trying it ... good luck!

Thank you sooooo much for your response.  Unfortunately I can not spend more then $3000 for my new bed and that's actually pushing it.  Is there anything out there in my price range with no foam?  And will last 10 years?  FWIW, I'm in the US.  Thanks.
