Stomach Sleeper Help PLEASE!

Hi there. My wife and I recently bought the very expensive Simmons NxG Advanced Memory Foam Mattress. We enjoyed it just fine for 6 weeksor so and then my back started hurting every morning. I have tried sleeping on my side but I always end up on my stomach. I have tried body pillows between the legs and anything else I can think of. So, now it has been 3 months since we purchased the mattress and we cannot take it pack at this point. What do I do? Do I just chalk this up as a VERY expensive lesson and get a new firmer mattress? Is there anything I can put over the mattress we have to make it firmer on my side? Any help is much appreciated. I really would hate to have to toss a $2,000+ mattress after 3 months and spend more money on another mattress that may or may not be better. Thanks!!

often the reason for turning from your side onto your front during the night is that your matt is already to firm. your shoulders (and hips) dont sink into the mattress enough and are pushed up into you and normally forward curving your spine. when your lying on your mattress on your side do you feel it taking the shape of your body (hips and shoulders sinking in and feeling the matt holding you all the way) or does it feel like your on top of the mattress trying to push into it?
MY ADVICE THAT NEVER CHANGESNo, you dont NEED a firm mattress. Whatever kind of mattress you choose, if its really cheap it WILL be crap. Buying a mattress topper just proves you didnt buy the right mattress. If you have bought a mattress without trying it ... good luck!

I have a memory foam pillow that I have a love/hate relationship with. What works best for me these days is to have a thick pillow cover (thicker than a case) laying over the pillow to keep heat from making it sink. You may want to try that, get some pad that will insulate you from the mattress and keep it from sinking so much.
