I'm thinking of buying this mattress.  Can anyone who has this mattress let me know what they think of it.  Does anyone else have an opinion?

I took a look at their website and it - like most other mattress sites - does not give a lot of detailed information.
Are you sure this mattress is 100% latex? I mean, is there nothing BUT latex in the mattress, or is the little latex it has in it "100% latex"? Sometimes mattress companies try to mislead...

IF it is 100% latex, find out the following and come back here and tell us:

Who makes the latex? Is it Talalay, Dunlop or "jungle" latex?
What ILD does it come in? Is it one firmness for all or do you have a choice of firmness or ILD?
Does it have springs or is it pure foam? If it has springs who makes them and what gauge are they? How many turns do they have in each spring?
What other foams are in the mattress, if any? What thicknesses and types? Full disclosure or no sale!

Frankly I find their web site to be the type that tells you as little as it can, yet trying to create an "image" that will impress you. I am dubious. But if you can bring me back some specs then I can give you a more definite opinion. I'm betting it's pricey as well. And is there a sleep trial? If you don't like it, can you get a full refund as you can at flobeds?

Meanwhile I suggest you read a lot of stuff about latex and mattresses on this site, because I doubt this mattress is your "answer".

A local guy here sells Restonic, and like JIM, they sell a lot of hype without a lot of substance or numbers to back it up.  I got TWO Restonic beds from him a few years ago...the first one was nice but got a butt-dent within three months.  Returned it , he said it MUST be faulty, so got a pillowtop of the same mattress....heavenly....but then the butt-dent appeared and I took that one back too.  I'm friends with the guy, so watched as he went through the different mattresses...flavors of the month, I like to call it, and he was all big on the latex ones for awhile.  They came all decompressed in a bag, then once it is opened, they swelled up.  It was nothing more than a piece of latex.  Nothing fancy.  I think it had a cover on it.  Whoopie.
So, visited him again a couple of weeks ago and he told me about their new, wonderful Kathy Ireland bed.  Yep, he got to tour the factory, see everything...and wow, what a wonderful bed.  What kind of springs, I asked.  Didn't know.  How much foam on top and what kinds?  Hmmn, didn't know that either.  I asked him what makes him think that this bed won't do exactly what the others did????  Well, better foam.  Right.  We'll see.
I guess the bed makers wouldn't like people like me.  I ask way too many questions.

eagle2, I think the mattress manufacturers only have to list whether or not it's flammable and if it's new material, etc. That's all well and good.
But I don't think they ever have to tell you how much foam is in it and what type of foam is in it.
I am getting my new Englander mattress (just for the springs, I'll be dissecting it soon) tomorrow or Friday and I'll note whether or not it comes with any disclosure as to the foam etc. I'm pretty sure they do not, or else the mattress stores would not have had to try to call Englander to get the answers, and for the most part still never DID give me the full answers (how much foam, what type of foam, how many turns on the springs, etc.)

What we need - and I may start a campaign about this - is to require mattress companies to divulge what types and how thick etc. the foam is inside their mattresses, what gauge of wire and how many coils the springs have, and so on. Most consumers do not ask these questions and when I called around it was as if I was from Mars. None of them had the info readily available, though a couple at least knew the gauge or number of coils. NO ONE could tell me the foam content - types and thicknesses present inside the mattress.

This is exactly why I am posting this question here.  I want to buy a good mattress, but can't find much info from manufactures web sites.  I am from a small town, and do know the store owner.  He is recommending this mattress, and it is what he sleeps on.  If I buy it and don't like it, I can return it.

Jimsocal: I agree with you that we as consumers do not have that much protection. We need more, much more I feel. The current law is to limited as to content and states covered.

I would like to see a federal law effecting all states that required all manufactured of furniture, bedding, and toys to have to stipulate exactly what was in our products, or they could not be sold in the United States under penalty of high fines.

Here is some more info on law labels.
