One side of Dunlop is usually softer than the other side - or gives a feeling of being softer - right?
How can you tell which side is softer?

I can't even tell for sure if these are the 2 different sides or all show only one side...

The last 2 pictures are the same, the first one I can't tell too much from it.  But I too have latex layers where I can feel it is softer on one side versus the other with my hand pushing on it.  But when I flipped it over so the firm side up I couldn't tell a darn difference when I slept on it.  But someone told me it is just where the cut was done is why one side is shiney and the other dull; but why is it softer on one side if mine isn't dunlop?  My talalay piece that is labeled, I know is talalay doesn't look like that.  It is consistent front and back.  I  believe my other pieces are natural talalay, but they look like your dunlop pieces; but it is a picture, so you can't really tell much detail.

Perhaps it is a small difference that you can't tell anyway Jim.

Dunlop can be made consistently (if done right it shouldn't feel significantly different from one side to another)  I don't think I could tell if one of these sides was softer by looking at it.

Although this Dunlop piece has a Medium sticker on it, I am doubtful that it is really a medium. It feels at least 4ILD harder than the Talalay of the same ILD, maybe even 8ILD. I am no expert but all I know is, I can't sleep on the thing and I've tried it as a middle layer and as a bottom layer now. If you like Firm, go with Dunlop!
