Please Help!...Memory Mattress by Foam Factory?

I need to buy a King Mattress and Foundation. I've researched a bunch of options, including all latex. However, when we go lay on local mattresses (central Iowa) we usually like the memory foam the best. I could buy a $3000 mattress locally, but I really don't want to spend nearly that much. So, I'm thinking about ordering a Memory Foam mattress from The Foam Factory. Probably the 5# memory foam on a 5" HD36-HQ. Here's a link http://www.mattressbymail.com/memorymattress.html With the terry cover it would only cost about $416 plus $300 for this foundation http://www.mattresses.net/king-wood-foundation.html. What do you think? Would this be serviceable for 10 years? If we don't like it, I was planning to add a 1" Talalay Latex Topper (20 ILD) for about $120 http://www.mattressbymail.com/latextopper.html Is this crazy? Anyone have any experience with this approach?

Opinions? Comments? Suggestions? I really need to order something, but with Foam Factory there's really no return policy if you don't like it. Seems like a bit of a gamble.

Sorry no advice for memory foam since I've never tried it. But if you've found you like it by testing it elsewhere it might be a good idea to order the minimum pieces then you can order whatever you need to add more layers to make it firmer or softer. I think you'll find this "build a bed" approach is very common here. You could call foambymail/mattressbymail and discuss your needs before ordering. If possible, find out the specs of the mattresses you tried and liked at the local store. I hear the people there are quite helpful!
