Do not buy your mattress from overnightmattress.com. They do not ship as they tell you they will.  We ordered our mattress on 7/10/11 and still don't have it. (OVERNIGHT MATTRESS.COM) Can't ever reach them. We have no tracking number. We have also contacted the BBB in Johnson City Tennessee to report them.  Wondering if we will ever get our mattresses, and what they will be like when we get them.  Though I would help someone out and tell them not to buy from them!

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have recommended them because my experience with them was very good. That was a few years ago. It seems they may have changed management or something? Good luck and let us know how this turns out.

I just placed an order with them Friday.  I made the guy verify that they had the stuff in stock to make the mattress, and he said it would ship Monday at the latest.  We would like to get it here by the end of next week, so hopefully he wasn't just pulling my leg.  I will let you know when I get the tracking info.

I just got the shipping confirmation with tracking numbers on Tuesday morning.  The scheduled delivery is for Aug 4th, which is 6 days after I ordered it.  If that holds, it looks like you could order on a Monday and have it on a Friday, but that would be cutting it close.  One week delivery seems about right, which is quicker than I was quoted from anyone else.

Update:  I got another message saying the mattress was actually shipped UPS rather than FedEx, with a UPS tracking number that actually works (the fedex never showed any progress).  The delivery is now slated for 1 week from the day it was ordered.  I'm hopeful it will make it on time.

Any company that calls themselves overnight mattress.com sounds like it might be a problem. I bought my most recent mattress from an online company called saatva. It's a really nice pillow-top and it was around $800, i thought that was a really good price compared to other beds I was looking at.

It's a name to appeal to those people who don't bother to read the fine print.  I am always surprised when I hear mattress ads on the radio that say "if you purchse before 2 pm you can be sleeping on this mattress tonight".  I think this must be another ruse to get customers to purchase immediate.  Who really needs a mattress that quickly?

It seems like the mattress industry is up there with used car sales as far as the scum factor goes.

How long have you had it? I hope yours holds up better than mine did.

Getting the mattress quicker was appealing to me since we had visitors coming and an extra bed would be nice.  Everyone else was quoting me several weeks.  In reality, a custom foam mattress can get shipped pretty quickly if all the components are in stock.  However, I would have been willing to wait a couple extra weeks for a better value (but I couldn't find that).  To me, quick shipping is "icing on the cake" if the product is what you want.

I have had my mattress for about 6 months. Ya I had heard from people that pillow tops sometimes don't last but the mattress I got from saatva is a euro pillow top so it's wadded in with the mattress not stitched seperate so it will stay intact.

We received the mattress via UPS on a Friday, one week after the order was placed.  It came in 2 boxes, one of which was just about destroyed.  However, the plastic wrapped around the mattress was still intact and no damage.  The base foam came installed in the mattress cover and vacuum packed while rolled.  The toppers came separate and in their own cases.  There was absolutely no smell that I could detect from any of the components.

The cover seems of very high quality, however there was some discoloring on the inside.  It appears the cover was stored for an extended period of time exposed to a light source the discolored it.  I didn't see any of this on the outside of the cover, but the discoloring on the inside was significant.

The memory foam topper was also significantly discolored around the outside.  If I were to guess, I would have thought these components were several years old, maybe even a decade?  I found the discoloring annoying, but went ahead and put the mattress together to try it out.  Unfortunately, the platform was not delivered with the mattress, so we had to put it on the floor.  My side (9" of 32 ILD M grade topped by 3" of 28 ILD latex) was plenty firm for my tastes.  However, it sleeps well and cool.  I wake up with no aches or pains (but that's typical for me).  My wife's side (9" of 32 ILD M grade topped by 3" of 3 lb memory foam) is softer and has a different feel to it.  She likes the feel of it, it sleeps much warmer (which is good for her), but she does wake up with a bit of a back ache (which is typical for her).

So, I decided the order has been hosed up because there is no platform.  I called and called.....no answer....straight to voicemail.  Tried to push the button for new sales....nothing.  Very annoying.  So I sent an email message and the next day a get a response with a new FedEx tracking number (the original one never worked).  The platform was delivered on a Tuesday (11 days from the order date).  It was in good shape and had a Tencel cover to match the mattress....nice attention to detail in my opinion.

The quilted cover does a super job of hiding the seam between the latex and the memory foam.  The overall quality seems very good to me.  We are considering adding 1" of soft latex across the whole bed since both sides seem to feel like the toppers are not really think enough.  We could also try putting that latex layer on the very top.

If you are looking for good customer service, these guys will probably disappoint you.  If you are looking for an economical way to make a split king with high quality components, they are worth a look.  I couldn't find a more economical way to go unless I was willing to forego the ability to swap out comfort layers during the trial period.  My 2 cents.....your milage may vary!
