Similar to you, my Gardner Mattress all latex mattress was too firm after I had already done one exchange from their "medium" latex bed. Since I weigh 260 lbs I decided to top off my too firm mattress with another 3 inches of "medium"--24-28 ILD from FoamSweetFoam. I went with them for the 100% natural Latex International product which some said was a bit firmer than the blend. So far I am very happy with my puchase. It's soft but still quite supportive over the firmer base layers I already had. I wanted that "plush" feeling without it being too soft and sagging. I might have been able to get away with only 2 inches but didn't find a source I trusted at the right price. The FSF price for 3 inch toppers is $400. which includes shipping and a 30 year warranty. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Good luck in your search!

Why does it have to be latex? I always hated Latex as a comfort layer. One option would to just get soft conventional foam and even though it breaks down faster..it's very cheap to replace.
