It all comes down to personal preference, but if I were you, I might buy 1" soft latex and see how it feels. If you decide you want a little more cush, you can add another 1" if needed. Side sleepers generally need more cush, and that's why I would choose a soft topper rather than a medium one.

And if that ends up being a little too soft, you could put medium under it. Or get medium, and if it's too firm, add an inch of soft. Most people seem to choose 2" of latex topper, so one piece at a time might be the way to test it out. I really like my soft talalay 1" topper from FBM, and just bought another one. On the other hand, I dislike a firm mattress. :) ---Amy

Got the 1" topper from thefoamfactory.com Bed Seems fine now. I have it under a mattres cover and pad. At this time I will leave as is . We like the feel. But will the latex wear out in time.

Weird... the foam factory is the same as foambymail, except that thefoamfactory.com gives free shipping for orders over $75 (at this time; September 29, 2009 ) Wonder why they have 2 sites with 2 different policies? foambymail.com thefoamfactory.com
