Guy says been selling mattress for last 30 years. Tells me to buy temperpedic mattress model cloud says only 1 complaint from customer and she was unemployed and sat all day on cloud tempepedic watching TV all day and night and so the cloud developed a sag!!!

I sit on his 6 inch dunlop core mattress and it is very hard feel. Guys tells me I have then allergey to dunlop latex? I try to tell him I have no allergies but that the dunlop mattress is very firm, guys ignores me and starts to talk about temperpedics. Guy  carries a 2.5 inch topper and I ask him can I put that topper on his dunlop core 6 inch mattress. says why would you do that? that won't soften the dunlop.

Said pure dunlop latex is very expensive around 3000-4000 dollars for a 11 inch mattress. also says that layered mattressed are too much hassle as customers will open the cover and mess around with the mattress!! says don't buy online since you don't know what you will be getting.

well what do you guys say to all this?

See no one has responded so I'll give it a shot.

First off, as I've stated before here, I think mattress salesmen come from the same gene pool as used car salesmen.  IMO the Dunlop process has little to do with firmness.  Latex comes in different densities and that controls firmness.  For sure this salesman is pushing the Temperpedic line.  Saleman's comment about cost of a 100% latex mattress is way out of line by a factor of about 2x.  Latex mattresses can be had that are comprised of several different layers of different densities.  Lower density next to the surface for softness and denser foam near the core for better support.  Can agree with the statement about buying on-line without every seeing or laying on one.  Too many differences between people and mattresss construction.

Good luck with your search.
