I thought I would look at sleep number and tempropedic any thoughts

I would keep looking and do a lot of reading on this web site.  Many of us like the all latex mattresses and some like the memory foam from Tempurpedic.  All Latex is my recommendation.   You can use the search function to find sources and recommendations.

I will give you my two cents. My wife and I bought the Serta I Comfort Revolution 13 months ago. No regrets. Just as comfortable as when it was new.

I recommend trying them both out before you buy. I would also look into latex mattresses such as Pure Latex Bliss which you can find in retail stores to try out. With a memory foam or latex bed you can actually save some coin and do it yourself. Good luck.
