Latex mattress without wool cover

I noticed that customs sleep design mattresses come without a wool cover. They have in fact a terry cotton cover only. This is unusual. My question is would absence of a wool cover alter the feeling and durability of a latex mattress? I thought wool cover was absolutely necessay in a all latex mattress. Comments please. Thank you very much.

its not absolutely required by any means...but without wool some kind of water proof mattress protector should be used or perhaps just a wool filled mattress protector. granted I would recommend one regardless of whether there is wool in the mattress or not. What's the best waterproof, yet breathable mattress protector to use? Is this is a good one . .. http://www.protectabed.com/product.htm?pid=643047 ? Are there better ones to be had?

Hey Ray Charles...... not sure where you came up with the facts for your opening line, but on the thread that I've referred you to on half a dozen occasions, it states CSD's cover construction: Re: Latex Foam Search Reply #5 Mar 20, 2011 9:57 am "The cover is organic cotton with wool backing and zipper."
