latex mattress topper-help for a newbie

Hello all. Thank you for a very informative forum. I just bought a new innerspring mattress (Berkeley Ergonomics) and I love the support it gives me, but I need more "cradling" for when I side sleep. The firmness bothers my shoulders. I was thinking I need a latex topper (prefer a natural material). The mattress has a 1" thick, firm layer of talalay on top. I know I should try things, but was hoping for some educated guesses as to what would work as I just spent a huge amount on the mattress. I am 6'5" and 235lbs. and my wife is 5'9" and 135lbs. I was looking at Foambymail (very reasonable) and was thinking a 2" layer (kingsize)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Erik.

Do you know the ILD and thickness of the latex that is already built into the bed? Is your wife comfortable already or is she also needed extra cushioning -- and does she also side sleep? I will say that we liked FBM and got our latex from them. I can't compare it to other companies, but we've been satisfied by the quality.

The latex built-in to the mattress is a 1" layer of "firm", don't know the ILD. I was thinking of adding 2" more, possibly a little softer. Wife needs more cushoin also. Thanks.
