Help us pick a new mattress!

My husband and I have had some bad luck with mattresses these past few years ever sinde we upgraded to a kingsize bed. Out first king mattress was a horrid Sealy that sagged terribly just outside of the 3-year warranty. We replaced it withan Ikea Erfjord latex mattress which we are now returning because it's also sagging quite badly after a few months.

Anyhow, we're due for yet another new mattress but at this point we're so confused that we don't know where to begin. We do know that we like moderate to firm mattresses and that we don't like the sink-in feeling of most memory foams. We'd prefer to spend less than $2000. Our bed is a low profile platform but there is room for box springs. I'm a 125 lbs backsleeper and my husband is a 175lbs back/side sleeper. We're especially interested in anything sold by Costco because of their return policy and proximity, but other stores will do.

What do you recommend?

You might consider buying a very firm spring mattress from a smaller firm like Original Mattress Factory & then getting a good latex topper.  Get one that can be flipped, so you can avoid creating impressions.
