Free box spring from US Mattress?

While looking at a Sealy Springfree Whistlewood latex queen bed from US Mattress for $2519 they list a free box spring.  While looking at platfom beds on the same site they give you a list of mattresses for those beds.  They offer the above mattress for $2266 which of course would lead you to believe the box spring really isn't free.  I emailed the US Mattress asking to explain this and to also see if they would honor the complete set for $2266.  So now I wait and see.

This set is sold at various stores online for the same price of $2519.  I wonder if Sealy mandates that price.  I also believe that is the same bed as the Sealy Springfree Fairway Dune that also sells at various stores on line and in stores for the same price of $2519.  I tried to email Sealy about this but you won't find any email address on their site.  You also won't find any models listed for their Sealy Springfree line.

S-brand mattresses are often sold under different names by every store that carries them. That way retailers can claim exclusivity and prevent comparison shopping for the best price--which is why you won't find models listed on the Sealy website.

The Springfree line has a synthetic Dunlop latex core. The comfort layers are made of PU which will soften, sag and take body impressions just as quickly as any other mattress. For less money you could buy an all latex mattress from Flobeds or SleepEZ and have the option of adjusting the comfort levels for each partner.

I would heartily agree with Cloud9's post. We think there are a lot better choices than the Sealy mattress. I would suggest that you take your time and do some homework here before plopping down $2500 for a synthetic latex bed from Sealy. It does take time to digest what's on here - it really can't be absorbed in a day or even a week. The forum is searchable. The answers are in here. Read what others have done in your situation.

Bill I've been on and off this site for a good two years or so now and it gets more confusing!!  I thought FloBeds were pretty expensive.  You add in a topper and  base and you're close to $3000.  SleepEz was a little less.  These are for minor league companies who you just don't say come pick the mattress back up.  I don't want to get in the position where you have to send the mattresses back and forth until you get the right combo.
