Good advice in the previous posts IMO. 2" layers are easy to work with. 1" layers are rather "fragile" - I have two of those and they are looking pretty beaten up already, plus they are just fussy to work with. 3" of ILD 20 is a bit too much, at least for most folks. It works for me but only because mine is under an Intelli-Gel overlay. 3" or even 4" cores are OK if half-width. A King-size layer of anything over 2" is quite a handful. Most convenient IMO: Support layers - 3" split king Comfort layers - 2" full size

If you had 2" LUX and 2" 36 for a base, you could swap the order of the two to adjust the feel. I'm sure you'd be able to tell a difference in the firmness. As for comfort layers, I don't see a reason to buy 3" of any latex, since you could always order another inch or 2 later (with free shipping) if you determine you need softer. You can always add softness, but with thick layers, you can't take away softness, if it ends up too soft. With thinner layers, you could always move a "too soft" layer down a layer, and not have to scrap it.

I have Talalay latex from three different sources, quite possibly representing all three manufacturers of Talalay in the world. I have no issue with the quality of any of them, and I'm picky about quality. FBM latex is fine. So is the latex from Sleep Warehouse. I like donw's suggestion of 2" of ILD 50 and 2" of ILD 36. It's a clever way of hedging your bet when you don't know for sure which you would prefer. I don't think the feel will be a lot different from 100% latex, but I'm not speaking from experience.

Yes, that's what I am thinking. i am just working myself to just spending the $1600 :) Shawn really seemed to know his stuff. He told me 10000 would be fine for me provided I get Medium - Firm - Xfirm What is strange, jeremy said Medium Medium X-firm. Not sure, seems like Shawn knows his stuff more though?
