Costco Latex Topper made of Polyurethane??

In general, I'm a pretty happy Costco customer. But I'm wondering why the product listed online (link below) is called a Latex topper when it states in the product information that it is 98 percent polyurethane foam and 2 percent Latex . . . ??

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11526981&search=latex+mattress&Mo=20&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ne=4000000&D=latex+mattress&Ntt=latex+mattress&No=14&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

Has anyone purchase any Costco Latex lately (either mattress or topper) ?

Sorry, I don't seem to know how to make the link work - but if you search on www.costco.com for latex mattress you'll see a listing for latex topper.

Latex infused polyfoam?  Just when I think the industry can't whore itself out to a lower level.  Something is very fishy here.

I'm sure it's because their is no governing body to insure the product advertised isn't false. Also I'm sure that because it has a small percentage of latex they're allowed to advertise the line as latex. We had the same problem years ago concerning "Made in the USA". It's just a company trying to get over on the customer. I would register a complaint with COSCO as well as the manufacturer. Maybe if more people complain something will be done.angry

The email reply from the supplier (through the Costco customer service rep) didn't make a lot of sense - as they started talking about their high quality "memory foam".  It didn't seem like they were talking about the same product.

But interestingly, the description on the website has completely changed - so perhaps the inquiry was helpful in as it prompted an update/correction.  Seems this wasn't really a Latex topper after all.

When it is Latex combined with any Poly Foams including memory from it is not a good idea. They both perform differently and combining one with the other negates the benifits of either one. It is just bad practice to combine Latex with Memory foam or any other types of foam. Always get one or the other never a combination.
