Costco Latex Mattress vs. Sams Club Latex Mattress

Hi all,

I need to get a new mattress for my daughter.  I had been waiting for the Costco latex mattress to come back, but then someone linked the latex mattresses at Sam's Club.  Now I'm confusticated.

The Costco latex mattress is one inch thicker, but . . . it's made in China and while it's gotten generally great reviews, I do wonder whether there are fillers or something not so. . . great in the latex.  Also, the cover is pretty minimal.

The Sam's Club latex mattress is a little more expensive, but on the up side, the latex is either LI (for the blended mattress) or Latexco, for the all natural (Dunlop) mattress.  At least the latex for both these are made in the US.  Also, the Dunlop mattress seems to be made with a nice cotton and wool mattress cover, much better than the Costco mattress.

However, the Sam's Club Mattress only comes in Twin XL, and I was planning on buying my daughter a nice bedframe to go with the bed, perhaps an antique wrought iron, or an antique oak frame (she has my grandmother's antique oak bentwood dresser, circa 1900).  So the twin xl would be hard to find a nice bedframe for.

Has anyone bought the sam's club mattress, and if so, impressions?

thanks, kim

depending on what headboard footboard you get there are a few companies that can sell T-XL bed frames that would work for most headboard footboards

Here is my email reply for

American Sleep Organic Mattress

Thank you for your inquiry,

Regarding your questions:
1) The layers are glued together with Saba organic glue.
2) The Latex is manufactured by Latexco
3) This mattress is not floored at any SAM'S CLUBs.

I just wanted to make sure it was indeed made by Latexco.

Do you know if Sam's return policy is as good as Costco's? I have the Costco bed on order, but if it doesn't work out, I may return it and try the Sam's bed if there is a decent return policy. I do wish the Costco mattress shipped as quickly as Sam's though!

I'm not sure, the Sam's Club return policy is:

http://samshelpcenter.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/251

The exceptions to the policy are:

http://samshelpcenter.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/320

It doesn't really say how long you have to return the mattress, nor will Sam's Club pick it up.  It looks like you have to return it to a Sam's Club with all the original packaging, or mail it back.  However I just looked at this again, and you can order these in regular twin.  With the cotton and wool cover, and the Made in America Latexco latex (or LI Talalay if you get the blended), I'm thinking this is a better buy than the Costco bed, even though it is more expensive.

Unless someone here has returned a mattress guess someone will have to call or email them.  Also if you don't have a card you can still buy online can't you?  Anyone here a Sam's Club purchaser?  I can't imagine them expecting you to haul a mattress to the store.

Internet search shows that this mattress is made by Innomax. They call it:

WHITE NIGHT PREMIUM ORGANIC NATURAL LATEX MATTRESS

http://www.innomax.com/index.php?crn=238&action=show&show_products_mode=cat_click

It is a part of they Natural Reserve collection.

The company has been around for 30+ years, but I have a difficulty locating reliable user reviews of this product.

Unfortunately, the only locations where one can see their products on display are in Colorado (Denver, Ft. Collins, Colorado Springs). It would be interesting to get more first-hand accounts of using this product. Only 1 review on Sam's Web site (of king size mattress).

P.S. This a copy of my post on another forum.

It's not a very thoughtful review either - they say it's helping their backs, but feels firm.  They complained about the price, which was cheap for a 100% latex bed with a cotton and organic wool cover, and about the delivery service.

The Sam's Club mattress is NOT 100% latex. "The 3\" top layer with Ultra-Form" (= polyurethane foam) With "Two more additional layers of 3\" latex"

No Marlene, you are wrong.

Sam's Club sells two latex mattresses.  One is 100% latex and the other is not.  These mattresses are made by Innomax.

The American Sleep Organic Mattress  sold by Sam's Club is a 100% latex mattress.  It is the same as the White Night Premium Organic Sleep System sold by Innomax.  The "ultra form" you mention just refers to zoned Dunlop latex.  Innomax sources their latex from Latexco, which makes zoned Dunlop latex.

The American Sleep Eco-Green Latex Mattress sold by Sam's Club is not 100% latex.  It is the same as the Allura Natural Latex Sleep System sold by Innomax.
