Hi all, I had been lurking around this forum in December, when I needed to purchase a mattress. I ended up buying a SleepEZ mattress (SelectSleep 10,000 Talalay-blend latex: Soft/Medium/Hard splits) and I figured I should register and post about my experience to add another data point for those considering a latex mattress.

I had tried out a SavvyRest mattress in a nearby store (100% natural latex hard/hard/medium), had really liked it and was seriously considering buying it; however, since I saw that everyone seemed to have equally decent experiences with Flobeds, SleepEZ and SavvyRest, I just ended up going with SleepEz, since they offered the most inexpensive option.

Ordering and shipping was a smooth process. I briefly talked with Shawn over the phone, who convinced me into doing the soft/medium/hard combination and even told me that I might consider only 2 layers, since my fiance and I are relatively light (me: ~145 lbs, her much lighter) and would really only feel the top two layers.

Just as background, I am 5' 9", ~145 lbs, a side sleeper and no problems with my back yet (knock on wood). So far I've slept on the mattress for 3 weeks now and I haven't slept this soundly for quite some time. Coming from the Puritanical Northeast, I have in the past usually preferred firmer mattresses, but strangely am finding myself trying to decide whether I prefer the Hard/Soft/Medium and the Hard/Medium/Soft arrangements, both of which are much softer than what I would have chosen in the past.

The layers arrived in individual boxes (hard splits in one box, medium splits in another, and soft splits in another). As my fiance is currently living in a different town, I ended up having to set the mattress up myself and I soon realized that the latex layers are surprisingly heavier than they look.

Lastly, I ended up ordering this steel bed frame from Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11899635), so that I wouldn't have to order a foundation and buy a bed frame. I'm still unclear on whether this is proper support for the mattress, but wIth its 8 legs and crossed steel beam support, my thinking is that it in the least seemed sufficient to cover the foundation requirements for the SleepEZ warranty.
