Apple & Baking soda?

My new Sleep Science mattress has this

  • Luxurious Soft, Jacquard cover is removable and washable

  • if i have a smell issue what is the apply and baking soda deal all about?

    You cut up an apple into wedges, put it on a plate, sprinkle baking soda on the apple, and put the plate on your mattress.  Supposedly it absorbs the off-gassing odors, but since I bought a latex bed I haven't had that issue and have not tried the apple and baking soda trick.

    Another suggestion is to put dryer sheets between your mattress protector and the mattress, supposedly they absorb the odor too.

    thanks, i have no idea what to expect from the bed i have purchased, but buying from costco is the only way to go as returns are so easy

    i considered tempurpedic and their in home trial, but their prices are outrageous so figured i would try the alternatives first
