Frigging fire barriers

I have found that I'm very sensitive to any kind of fire barrier that has a componant that can get into the lungs. Unfortunately for me, this means most mattresses. The one I have now is a Saatva, which I thought would be safe but is not. Returning the mattress isn't an option, so is there anything I can use
specifically to block the particles (?) from getting into my lungs?? I have it covered up quite a bit right now with fabrics and it helps but not completely. Do I need to buy a thick piece of plastic? I just need to block the lung irritant, which is probably some kind of silica, not off gassing fumes. Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone out there had the same experience? I honestly don't know how people can sleep on most new mattresses these days.
